The strength of collaboration is in each party involved having a shared unique vision. Hip hop, as a genre, has been aided in recent years by the best in both rhyming and production coming together to form cohesive chains of thoughts in the form of albums. With Datura Records latest release Approach and Ill Poetic, natives of Kansas City and Cincinnati respectively, joined forces to cement their place amongst the best of all Emcee and Producer combinations. Aloe Park, the fourth official release for Approach is marked by sultry thickly layered landscapes provided by Ill Poetic. Although, Approach is considered a veteran Emcee by reputable sources, this album shows both maturity and progression throughout each of the albums 12 tracks. The lead single "Watermark", which features the voice of Reggie B, is evidence that Aloe Park start to finish presents listeners everywhere with a chance to vibe outside of the categorical alignments hampering music as we know it. Aloe Park is far more than a mystical place to temporarily escape to, it is a state of mind that keeps you firm wherever your travels take you....
